Where funds go
Where each NFT and wei of supporter backing goes after failure, a direct award, an FWA outcome, withdrawal, or deadline recovery.
Supporter ETH begins as position backing, not artist revenue. Until a position receives an outcome, the campaign contract holds its backing for that position. The eventual NFT outcome determines whether the supporter recovers ETH, receives an NFT, or funds a normal FWA listing—and whether any backing becomes artist credit.
FWAIR adds no fee. A position that enters FWA is still subject to FWA's existing settlement economics, so an ETH recovery can reflect the normal FWA settlement fee.

Direct awards bypass FWA
A direct award pairs the supporter's NFT claim with full backing credit
for the artist. The NFT and ETH never become an FWA position. Onchain, this
outcome is BackerAwarded and uses listing ID
0 as a sentinel, not as a real listing.
Listed positions keep principal and earnings separate
For a position assigned to FWA, the campaign supplies the NFT and backing and becomes the onchain FWA depositor. The campaign's accounting records the supporter's principal or NFT entitlement separately from the artist's depositor earnings and any backing explicitly returned to the artist by a voluntary listing withdrawal.
- If the purchaser keeps the NFT, the supporter receives the net backing returned by FWA after its settlement fee.
- If FWA sends the NFT back, the supporter receives the NFT instead of recovering the backing used by the standing bid.
- FWA depositor fees and aggregate fee or crown credits accrue separately to the artist.
Reward shares follow supported positions
Every fully supported position receives one permanent supporter reward share. A higher backing multiplier does not create more shares. Direct awards, FWA listings, and deadline recovery do not erase the share after it has been initialized.
Harvested FWA depositor reward tokens are divided across those supporter shares rather than paid to the artist. ETH and NFT claims remain separate from the reward-token claim. Campaign backing is never used for VRF fees; the randomness caller pays them separately.
See Claims & recovery for when each recorded entitlement becomes withdrawable.
